Synopsis
Review
I would hate to give plot away, but this book is sensational. Monsters, kick ass characters and a story that is dark gritty, yet pulls on your heartstrings so hard they may just snap. Kate Harker is a human, who’s father is cold and distant. She does her best to be like him, a fighter. Incidentally the first scene of this novel is Kate burning down a chapel, and that seriously sets the mood for the whole freaking book.
Augustus Flynn on the other hand, is a monster who can steal souls. He would rather be human though. He is kinder and softer than human Kate, and when events lead to these two being thrown together is is a truly epic read.
The climax of this book had me messaging a good friend who had already read this book. I would share these messages, but around 96% of my words are capitalised cuss words. What can I say? I was feeling emotional…. I take this as a good sign though. If a book can bring a reaction like that I heavily approve!
