Synopsis
When an elite BeiTech strike team invades the station, Hanna and Nik are thrown together to defend their home. But alien predators are picking off the station residents one by one, and a malfunction in the station's wormhole means the space-time continuum might be ripped in two before dinner. Soon Hanna and Nik aren’t just fighting for their own survival; the fate of everyone on the Hypatia—and possibly the known universe—is in their hands.
But relax. They've totally got this. They hope.
Review
Nik on the other hand was genuine, snarky, and mysterious! As a member of a crime family he has been in all sorts of trouble but we find out he has a heart of gold and will do almost anything for those he loves! His flirtation skills with Hannah were so amazing and the way the feed of each other is one the best couplings I have seen in YA in a while!
Usually I talk about the writing style here but because of the format that is a bit difficult. I will say that each email, and message, and transcript sounds like it is written by each different character. The writing is so extremely genuine and unique for each different person I can easily believe if this book were written by twenty different people rather than two!
The ending had me totally floored. The Illuminae Files books are in a small handful of book where the ending genuinely shocks me. I love books with a gripping ending that have be dying waiting a year for the next book and Gemina definitely accomplishes that!
