Thiswas the best book to movie adaptation I was this year not to mention the book was fanfrickingtastic!!! This book made me laugh more than any other book I read this year it was entertaining and gave me insight on a time period that is so important to know about!! I wish I could read this book again for the first time! If you have not read this book yet refer to gif below!
This list is in order in which I read them and a series counts as one! 13. The Pendragon Series by D.J. MacHale I read books 8, 9, and 10 early this year and along with the rest of the series these last books were amazing!! I waited on reading these last three books because I was so mad at the MC Bobby Pendragon for his actions in book 7. In the beginning of 2014 I was determined to finally finish this series and I did and it was well worth it! D.J. MacHale is truly a genius and these books ended perfectly! |
12. The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins I read this trilogy back to back in the beginning of the year and it really jump started my love of YA Fiction, blogging and making book videos as well! The words cannot describe how much this series inspired me and how amazing Suzanne Collins is as an author! |
This is my absolute favorite YA Fantasy novel I read this year!! This book is from three different perspectives the princess, the prince , and the assassin and of the to male characters you do not know which is which and I think that made this book all the more exciting! by the ned of the book I was jumping up and down when we find out who is who and I just cannot wait for book 2 to come out in July!!
This urban fantasy series knocked me off my feet!! I wanted to relate to the characters more but other than that this world, storyline, and writing style were just perfection!!
The imagery in this novel is insane!! It really makes you feel like you are walking through a beautiful night circus! I really think you should go in not knowing much because it makes it so much better!! This is also getting made into a movie in 2016!!
I was only able to read Cinder and Scarlet this year but both books were absolutely to die for!! I was so easy to fall for the characters in this series! I was so worried because of the sci fi aspects to this book but like most people who read this series that did not bother me at all and I cannot wait to finish the series this year!
This huge historical fiction/time traveling book was fabulous!! There are some adult scenes in this book so it isn't YA but dedicating yourself to this enormous book is 100% worth it I could not put this book down!!
6. Divergent by Veronica Roth Even though I was rooting for the bad guy secretly some of the time I sill fell in love with the MC! I have been spoiled on the end of this series so I am not sure if I will continue on but the idea of this story is so intriguing that I could not put it down! Great book!!! |
There is a reason why Cinda Williams Chima has 2 spots on this list and that is because she is an amazing writer who can come up with one hell of a story!! Although the names in this book were very hard to keep track of the idea of the story is very intriguing and had me hooked from page one!!
A lot of people like to compare this book to Harry Potter and to those I say "see gif below" because just no! If you had acctually read the book you would see it is nothing like Harry Potter! This book was a great first book in the series and both the authors did an amazing job. The characters and story line are just awesome!!
This Alice in Wonderland retelling is sure to be a hit with most people especially if you enjoyed Tim Burtons version of the classic tale! This book geniusly weaves in an interesting back story and of course a love triangle along with wonderland themes to make for a great read! Not to mention the covers for this whole series are the best of the year hands down!!
This is one of the only contemporary books I read this year and I think it really made me fall in love with the genre I was not expecting much from this book but I really really loved the characters and the ending of this amazing novel!! The friendship that these two boys have is wonderful, I wasn't too keen on the ending but the more I thought abut it it just seemed right!! I really feel like there relationship is a lot like Wall-e and Eve and if you have never seen that movie there is something wrong with you!!
This Contemporary YA novel written in verse has got to be the book that made me think the most this year! WOW! I just finished reading this about a week ago and I still cannot get my thoughts in order for this book! Ellen Hopkins deals with a wide array of hard topics in her books. She writes about teen pregnancy, abuse, drugs, religions just to name a few, if you are ok with reading possibly triggering material then I would highly suggest this book!
