Review
Sid is one of the most unique characters I have ever read! She is geeky, proud, funny and kind! I believe she must have some sort of ADHD because her thoughts in the book are so jumbled and all over the place it was sometimes confusing. This could be attributed to poor writing but I'm gonna go with ADHD because of a number of distractions she seemed to have. It was sometimes hard to keep track what she was actually doing.
The side characters were overall pretty flat with the exception of Jimmy her best friend. I liked that he was the quarterback of the football team but still held similar interests with Sid. The other characters were very racially diverse which I enjoyed but it was hard to keep them straight because they were all pretty similar to each other and to Sid.
The mystery aspect was the most enjoyable part of the story and I wish it had taken a bigger role overall. Basically, they are trying to find the murderer of this girl Sid thinks went to a LARP before she was murdered and in order to do that they must use their geeky knowledge, tech savvy, and dedication to finding who killed this girl. I know very little about LARPing and so it was interesting to dive into this world with Sid and her friends.
