This post was inspired by Flawed by Cecelia Ahern! This dystopian is in a world where everyone is expected to be literally perfect. Anyone who commits even the smallest offense is labeled Flawed and branded on one or more places on their body. Our main character Celestine is the model citizen until she makes one mistake and now her character has been called into question. . . she may be flawed! I really enjoyed that our main character is a person of color and there are other diverse supporting characters. The writing is superb and there will be another book which will be released in April which I need ASAP I also am participating in the booktube tours for this book and you can enter to win a copy of Flawed right here! |
There Once Were Stars by Melanie McFarlane is set in a city covered by a dome. This dome protects it citizens from the deadly radiation outside but when our main character notices two men outside without protection everything she has ever been told is being called into question! The intrigue and suspense surrounding this novel had me on the edge of my seat. I was so invested in the story and the characters after just a few pages, although, I will say that there is a love triangle and it very unenjoyable but other than that this books is amazing!! |
The Jewel and The Rose follows Violet who is from the Marsh or the very poor part or her country. Most girls who are from the Marsh are sold to be used a surrogates for wealthy women who live the capital city of The Jewel. Violet is sold to one of the most powerful women in The Jewel and learns that she may have more freedom and powers than she knew. |
The future of our country look VERY bleak in Red Queen. The Reds live in poverty and work for the Silvers and all of the silver have hereditary powers which they use to further control the reds! The main character who is a red accidentally finds out/revels to a room full of silvers that she has a special power and all hell breaks loose! This book was amazing!! |
