I am so excited for this tag! I was tagged by Joannotations on Youtube! I have taken at least a dozen sorting hat quizzes over the years... three of which were on Pottermore and I have ALWAYS been sorted into Ravenclaw. . . It is honestly my proudest achievement! Joann did yet another sorting quiz that gave you what percent you were for each house (check out the quiz here) and I was of course curious! Find my results below!! I love being in Ravenclaw I may not always embody the vision Rowena had for Ravenclaw House but I'd like to think I still make her proud! “Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you've a ready mind, Where those of wit and learning, Will always find their kind" |
The Questions
1) Let's go back to Hogwarts; which is your favourite of the Harry Potter books? I loved the Goblet of Fire. . . for a lot of reasons! I think the main character's really start to develop and go past surface level emotions and character traits. I loved the Triwizard Tournament and how Harry was tested on his knowledge and skills as a wizard. . . if it weren't so deadly I think Ravenclaw house members would be excellent in the Tournament! We don't want to put our lives at risk at such a young age when there are so many books to read and things to learn about! I loved that this book introduced other wizarding school and expanded the universe exponentially! I think what I loved the most is the help he got from his friends and fellow students it brought them closer and the ending was undoubtedly where the whole series took a much more dangerous and exciting turn! |
This was originally a youtube tag so I will just include the answer at the bottom of the post! Here it goes:
"As I was going to St. Ives,
I met a man with seven wives,
Each wife had seven sacks,
Each sack had seven cats,
Each cat had seven kits:
Kits, cats, sacks, and wives,
How many were there going to St. Ives?"
I think it's pretty easy when typed out but very fun to say and confusing for anyone to try to solve it!
Bronze A Whole New World by Liz Braswell! This is the first book in a companion series called The Twisted Tales Series published by Disney Hyperion. You do NOT have to read the books in order or read all of them you can pick and choose! Each book takes the Disney version of a fairy tale and twists the plot. For example, A Whole New World asks "What if Jafar is the one to acctually get the lamp first instead of Aladdin" The best thing about the story for me though was the Genie! This came out a little over a year after Robin Williams died and the author did the absolute best job emulating Robin Williams character in the book! I could literally hear Robin Williams voice in my head the whole time and it was so amazing to have that after dealing with the loss of one of my favorite actors of all time! |
Blue: The Selection by Kiera Cass Okay, I read this book in 2015 then proceeded to read the next 3 books in the series over the next week back to back in almost one sitting each! When the final book came out in 2016 I waited almost a full month to read it because I just didn't want this series to end! They are addicting and I have no idea why! There is a competition of 35 girls who are picked to compete marry the prince. It seems very convoluted and shallow when you read the synopsis but you cannot help but fall in love with Maxon and America and Kiera Cass just did the most amazing job with this series! |
4) Intelligence: recommend a book that is cleverly written. This book is written so well I literally had nightmares for a few days! This book follows a group of students who attend this school to train so they hopefully survive "The Call". When you are called you disappear from where ever you are and you are put in this nightmarish wasteland. It is disturbing and violent but so compelling I could not put it down! It sent shivers up my spine and I absolutely could not read this in my house alone! I went through so many emotions reading this book Peadar O'Guilin definitely succeeded in writing a clever book! |
6) Ravenclaw Traits: Wisdom: recommend a book that you wish your younger self could have read Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow I was this girl in Middle and High School I was trying to figure out my life with newly diagnosed PTSD and Bi-Polar Disorder. I thought I was alone I thought I was the only person who would really understand my struggles. I have since learned how wrong I really was but I am sure that seeing someone experience the same things I have would have had a profound affect on me. I read this book when I was 25 and it gave me an amazing perspective of how I have overcome all the obstacles of my childhood. I cannot imagine how this could have changed my life if I were able to read it at 14 or 16. |
7) Ravenclaw Traits: Originality: recommend a book that is at the start of a series Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson I do not get to talk about this book enough This was the book that got me into YA High Fantasy. Princess Lia is engaged to Mary the prince of a neighboring kingdom . . . she has never met him and is extremely upset about the whole thing! So the night before he wedding she escapes. The Fiancée Prince immediately sets off to find her this is one of the best slow burn romances and the world building and vivid writing are superb |
Right now I am loving readwithcindy, Books and Lala, and A Dash of Ash
I can't think of any Ravenclaws at the moment so if you are a Ravenclaw I TAG you!!
